Handbell Clinician, Composer, and Conductor

About Me

Paul began ringing handbells in 1974 and continues to pursue his hobby as a director and composer. Currently, he is serving as the Music Director for Encore! Handbell Ensemble, a community ensemble based in Oshkosh, WI. He has served as the conductor of Rezound!, an auditioned community handbell ensemble located in the Kansas City area and has directed handbells in multiple churches throughout the years. He has also served in multiple positions on the boards for both Area 3 and Area 7.

Paul enjoys composing and currently has over 100 published compositions. He has also won multiple composition contests.

Paul is employed by Schneider National as a Solution Analyst within the Information Technology department. He received a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematics from North Carolina State University. He makes his home in De Pere, Wisconsin with his wife, Sue, their two Boston Terriers, Calvin and Hobbes, and their Frenchton, Webster.

Paul has gotten questions about how to say his last name. His response is always the same: 'It rhymes with jackal-bean.' (MAC-el-veen)
